On guest mix duties for the tenth instalment in our mix series is Bristol based producer/DJ Blezard. Originally hailing from Lancaster and now studying music production down in Bristol, he’s really honed in on a deep, dubby and minimal sound of house music championed by the likes of the FUSE London crew. This mix gives a taster of the sort of stuff to expect from Blezard’s future productions and is a shining example of the type of sound mentioned above. It’s 45 minutes filled with a rolling, dubbed out house sound perfectly suited for getting a party in gear.
I had the pleasure of spending my first year at uni with this guy, and it’s great to finally have him on the blog. Expect big things from him in the future too, and no doubt he’ll be featured on here again soon.
I first heard this mix over five years ago after being put onto Max Cooper by deadmau5 surprisingly enough and instantly I fell in love with the glitched up melodies. Every once in a while I give this mix a whirl and it never ceases to impress me. The last half hour especially is absolutely excellent.
For our second guest mix, we’ve got a very special hour of music from Belfast based producer Conor Doherty, or Just Doc. as he’s better known. He’s very kindly provided us with a sizzling hour of original and fresh unreleased productions that traverse the house, techno and progressive spectrums providing deep grooves, melancholic pianos and euphoric synths. At times the mixes flows in a beautiful fashion as tracks seamlessly blend and bleed into one another with an impeccable ease.
Expect big things from Conor in the future then. He recently had a deep, dubby groover released on Tronic Records which you can purchase here. Don’t forget to catch him over on his Facebook and Soundcloud accounts too.
We’ve also just started our own Facebook page so we won’t be wrecking your heads on our personals anymore, check us out and give us a cheeky wee like here.
Finally got around to recording our first mix today. With coursework and going out over Easter as well as some travelling the two of us have been flat out, thankfully the first mix is a tasty one.
Went with a generally acidic vibe on this mix but nothing too heavy. There is a new Four Tet remix from me (Raymond) thrown in the mix too for good measure, expect more of our own tunes on the blog and in mixes in the future, hopefully have some signed too if we’re very lucky.
Over the next while we’ll be continually putting our own mixes up alongside guest mixes (If you’d like to send us a guest mix hit us up on our email) with each mix falling into either the banger or mash category. You can probably guess what sorta tunes would fit in each one. This one’s fulla bangers.
